ABOUT TReS
TReS is a distinctive Japanese family trio featuring saxophonist Sachi Hayasaka, bassist Toshiki Nagata, and baritone saxophonist RIO Nagata. Formed in 2012 for a tour of Argentina, the Tokyo-based group has developed a unique sound rooted in jazz improvisation, with influences from Argentine tango, Brazilian music, and diverse musical traditions from around the world.
TReS has performed in more than 60 cities across Japan and toured internationally in South America, the United States, and Cuba. The group was the first Japanese ensemble invited to perform at the Buenos Aires International Jazz Festival.
In 2026, Sachi Hayasaka’s debut album Free Fight was reissued in the UK by BBE Music, and TReS makes its London debut at the EFG London Jazz Festival at the Barbican.
